SPRING.....

Prepare yourselves for an explosion of colour.....no artsy shots, just the pure colour of flowers...... I snuck out early this morning to capture a few moments in my garden before I subjected myself to a second day of scraping and undercoating the multi-paned windows in my oldest daughter's recently  vacated bedroom..... groan!!!!!!!

It was a beautiful sunny day of 27 degrees...... oh I would have loved to have spent the day out there but when there is work to do.... we groan and whinge and ..... get on with it.

BTW just had a series of blood tests and the only thing that came back was that I was seriously low in vitamin D, my level is 35 and apparently the low end of normal is about 50 so the doctor has put me on high dosage capsules for the next 2 months to try and bring it up again........ I have no idea how this happens when I love being out in the garden but let this be a warning to all of you, there are no symptoms but vitamin D is essential to strong  bones and muscles, so why dont you get yours checked too! Maybe I should have gone out and gardened today instead!

  1. Gina, what gorgeous colorful flowers. You even have lavender? Lucky you. I have to buy it. I had my blood work done too this year and was shocked that my Vitamin D was normal, but low normal. They want mine up, too. I drink milk and eat yogurt and cheese alllll the time so not sure how it is low. I also found out with a bone density test that I have Osteoporosis. Who me?? Not sure how that happened either. I am taking Calcium and vitamin D daily now. They wanted me to start on prescription meds for the Osteo. and I took one Reclast and ached for a month. Did some research and did not take another one. Lots of bad side effects including bone cancer and something with the jaw. So I am not taking that stuff.

Have a good one and have fun scraping.

  2. Gina-What beautiful, beautiful flowers! You are going into Spring and blossoms and we are going into Fall and dreary days! I love that you were able to get out for a little while before working inside all day.

I just had my annual physical and all is good except my blood count is a bit low. My bone density and everything is high. I am a product of farmer's genes I think! Hugs- Diana
